What the log records

• Consultation milestones. When each consultation was announced, opened for submissions, closed, and when the committee published its response.
• Every submission received. Recorded by its tracking reference at the moment it arrived.

Each entry shows what happened and when, identified by reference codes — never by names.

What the log never shows

• Who you are. Names and email addresses never appear. Your identity is stored separately from your answers.
• What you said. The log records that a submission was received — never its content.
• Sign-in records. Identity checks are logged for accountability, not published.

Why this log exists

Public participation in law-making is a requirement of Kenya’s Constitution. When a committee says the public was consulted, this log is the evidence — anyone can independently verify when a consultation ran, that submissions were received, and that the committee responded publicly.

That protects the process in both directions. Citizens, journalists, oversight bodies — or a court examining how a consultation was conducted — can check the record for themselves. And Parliament holds a dependable, unalterable account that the consultation took place as described.
